"All I know is I love gaming at 4K at 60fps."
Damn PC plebs don't have any idea of game development its funny. When you play in "4K" its not actually 4k its native 1080p upscaled to 4k(just like all bluray HD content is now). If games were native rendered at 4k now we would be paying 70-80 dollars for games right now. Making games in native 4k is so expensive now that Naughty dog and Epic games said its going to be at least 5-10 years from this gen for...
"And here PC players keep getting labeled as Thieves and Pirates"
They still are. This is revenue which comes from ads and micro transactions on games on PC. Console games don't have ads like in WOW or Diablo 3 on PC.
According do the devs PC wouldn't even have this game if not for consoles. Console gamers actually pay for games full price day one and not get them for free or discounted like PC gamers usually do. I am really glad a PC dev finally said this because it proves gaming is for dedicated gaming devices like consoles and not hobby machine PCs.
Gotta love the ignorant PC Enthusiast talking about stuff they don't understand LOL. This dev is talking about rendering game assets in 4k. The only games that have done this so far are Ryse(2k textures I believe) and Dragon Age Inquisition(the shiny armor).
The games on PC that say "4k" are only upscaled 1080p native games. All modern games are rendered at 1080p to display in 1080p. Epic games already said rendering in 4k now adds thousands/millions of dollars...
You speak the truth. Looking at the stats on steam 80% are still using windows 7 pcs with medium specs or less. Of those users less than 10% have high end PCs or DX12 compatible PCs.
I think there was no downgrade because it was never going to look as good as those concept trailers. What they should have done was what the Elite dangerous devs did and put a disclaimer saying "not actual gameplay" on the trailers so PC dorks don't freak out because they can't...
"The core gamers are the ones playing PC and the ones who still game on Nintendo hardware."
This makes me laugh. Best selling games on both of those are casual games. Bayonetta 2 was a core game and flopped hard in sales. Best selling PC games of all time are the sims series and minecraft(two casual games).
So no. The core gamers are where they always will be, on the most popular platform along with everyone else.
"Skin textures and environment more visually clear
AA is gone
60fps made the game feel so incredible"
Jesus. You guys don't know what your talking about. 60fps has NOTHING to do with the visuals. It looks good because they could display it in the native 1080p(they had to downscale it for ps3 to 720 or less, don't remember)
All 60fps did was make joel's movement speed faster and made the camera motion fas...
"Doesn't it also work the other way? Sony fans who liked these games now think they suck and that SOE was a waste of resource?"
No. If you look at the financials SOE hasn't had any hit games on pc just niche ones. My guess is they'll go "pay to win" like they wanted to with H1Z1 until sony said no and made them give refunds. The damage was done to the brand and sony dumped them to the first company who offered money. You can tell this was the c...
So you and everyone here knows more than the actual developers who actually work in the industry?
LOL!
"I would not want to play a fast-pace, parkour style FPS @ 30fps"
Wow the "PC elite" don't even know 30fps in these games is actually good because you get more natural movement and the motion blur gives you the sense that your are the character. Any game you play at 60fps makes you move and look around like your on crack. This totally kills the immersion for these types of games. Alot of modern PC games coming out now are making 30fps the default becau...
OMG. The "PC elite" don't even know that there is NO native 4k games out now. All the 2k/4k stuff is just upscaled native rendered 1080p which is the standard for gaming now. You wana see what something with 2k/4k look like, see ryse. It used 2k/4k native rendered textures but the tech is so expensive now that most devs won't be using it for another 5-10 years. Even Epic said the next leap in PC graphics won't come for the next 10 years.
...and the Wii U is still tracking behind the dreamcast for the worst selling console of all time. I guess nintendrones forget that fact.

"Nvidia is helping to bring "Hollywood-levels of smooth animation" to Ubisoft's upcoming titles."
So what happend? This was a PC lead platform game and it turned out sh*t on all platforms. "PC elite" indeed.
"Rising popularity of PC gaming says that, while not happening tomorrow, we very well may see PC becoming the dominant platform going forward."
I been hearing that for 10-15 years and its never happened. Mobile(tablets/laptops) will be taking over PC gaming moving forward. The sales trends right now prove that.
"They started this subscription model."
WOW. such BS! xbox live was the first subscription service on consoles. It's success is what led sony to make PS+ mandatory on PS4. If EA access is a success expect another DRM console in the future. Sorta like the one EA and Ubisoft encouraged MS to build this gen.
"here's looking at the 100,000,000 active Steam users"
LOL. That is such BS. Just because people have steam installed doesn't mean they actually use it(Like me). The new steam store removed the player counter the day they announced they had reached "100 million users". So no one can prove or disprove it. If you look at day one game sales on PC you'd see it's last compared to console game sales. The biggest PC exclusive day z only sold 800,0...
"why would a ten year old even care if Microsoft bought it!"
Because that is the core audience for minecraft right now. My nephew is into it right now and so are all his classmates. They even watch stampy long nose on youtube playing minecraft. The casuals and kids is what MS wants with minecraft.
"I just read there are 711 million PC gamers"
Where did you hear that BS? I think those are just people with PCs(which is actually smaller since people are buying laptops and tablets only now). If that was true I think steam would have more than 50+ million users online but I have never seen more than 6-8 million on at one time(and there is supposed to be 42 million steam users). So in actuality the PC gamer is much smaller. I would guess only 6-9 million are hardco...
..and Final Fantasy XIV.
LOL PC plebs at it again! NO CPUs now can render 4k native content. Graphics cards now can only display 4k at 30fps or less and even then its not true 4k.
We have to wait 4-10 years before we get true native 4k rendered content not upscaled 1080p outputted to 4k monitors.
